  • Standard Wash
    • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate | Distance:2 Miles
    • The premier destination for SXS in Havasu. Wide sandy washes provide high-speed fun, while technical side-loops offer crawling challenges for Jeeps.
  • Havasu Heights
    • Difficulty: Moderate to Hard | Distance: 15–20 Miles
    • Features steep, rocky climbs and loose terrain. Reaching the ridgelines provides the best panoramic views of Lake Havasu and the surrounding desert.
  • Cattail Cove to Rovey’s Needle
    • Difficulty: Moderate | Distance: 19 Miles (Round Trip)
    • A scenic trek through winding canyons leading to a unique natural rock window. Great for photography and medium-clearance vehicles.
  • Crossman Peak
    • Difficulty: Hard | Distance:4 Miles (Round Trip)
    • The highest point in the Mohave Mountains. Expect narrow, rocky switchbacks. High clearance and lockers are highly recommended.
  • Falls Springs Wash
    • Difficulty: Moderate | Distance:1 Miles
    • A classic desert mix of sand and rock. A great half-day trip for both UTVs and Jeeps looking for a variety of terrain.

  • Ghost Mine Saloon (The New River Hotspot)
    • Difficulty: Easy | Distance: 16 Miles from Parker Dam
    • A beautiful ride through Shadow Canyon. Located at the Oasis at Havasu Palms, it features a mine-themed restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the Colorado River.
  • Backway to the Desert Bar (Nellie E. Saloon)
    • Difficulty: Hard | Distance:6 Miles
    • A technical rock-crawling route that ends at the world-famous, off-grid saloon.
  • Swansea Ghost Town
    • Difficulty: Easy | Distance: 25+ Miles
    • A historical route leading to well-preserved mining ruins. Mostly graded dirt roads, ideal for families and sightseeing.
  • Osborne Wash
    • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate | Distance: 15–20 Miles
    • A fast-paced sandy wash that serves as a main artery for the Parker off-road scene.
  • Copper Bottom Pass
    • Difficulty: Moderate | Distance:8 Miles
    • Traverses the Dome Rock Mountains. Offers dramatic elevation changes and winding ridgeline trails with massive drop-offs.

1. PERMITS & LEGALITY

  • Arizona OHV Decal: Required for all vehicles. Available at the Arizona DMV.
  • Chemehuevi Tribe Permit: Required for the California side of the lake.
  • CRIT Permit: Required for travel on Colorado River Indian Tribes land.

2. NAVIGATION & COMMUNICATION

  • Mapping: Use Polaris Ride Command or OnX Offroad to track your route and avoid trespassing.
  • Satellite Comms: Cell service is unreliable in deep canyons; a GPS unit or satellite messenger is highly recommended.
  • Timing: Best riding season is October through April. Avoid mid-day summer heat (110°F+).

3. SAFETY & ETIQUETTE

  • The Golden Rule: Never wheel alone. Always travel in a group of two or more vehicles.
  • Environment: Stay on designated trails and “Pack It In, Pack It Out.”
  • Hydration: Bring more water than you think you need, including a backup emergency supply.
  • Gear: Pack a first aid kit (with tweezers for cactus needles!), eye protection, and dust masks/pumper systems.
